The Sprinkler

Wow!  So much has happened since my last post!
We have been in...
Lufkin, Childress, White Deer, Panhandle, and Amarillo...
But, at Ousia's house is where Emma found her new love
Ousia's sprinkler.

It was so much fun watching her and Icky playing in the water!

I believe I'm going to have a mermaid living at my house before the end of the week!

Can't you just hear the sceams coming through the photo?

2 Years In The Making

Tomorrow is my anniversary.
Two years of a roller coaster ride with my best friend.
So I decided to write a little something for him.

To: My Best Friend and Partner in Crime

I get butterflies every time,
You look at me, or talk to me.
And when you tease,
Big smiles across my face,
You have filled up an empty space,
Where it had been vacant for so long,
Two years ago,
 I gave you my heart.
And even though there are times when we have been apart.
Those are the times that my feelings for you grow the most.
My love for you knows no bounds,
Oh, what a wonderful man I have found!
No greater Dad could have been created for our child and future children.
No better man could have been chosen to be my husband.
Do you understand what I'm trying to say?
I'm so glad we found each other
I'm so glad we love one another.
There are only so many words to use to tell you how much you mean to me.
But, my words are few and easy.
Plain and Simple, Straightforward and Trouble-Free.
My words are nothing less than,
I Love You,
I Love You, Babe.

Edible Animals

I do not know what it is with edible animals and my daughter destroying them.
My aunt and mom are so talented when it comes to creating cakes and cookies.
And with our last trip to the panhandle they did not disappoint.
A bee hive lemon cake!  It was amazing!

Too bad the little bees had to die from the hands/mouth of Emzilla!

Yum!!!

Now tell me how this sweet girl could do something like that!

The Triple D Date

I love The Food Network channel.  And my favorite chef is Guy Fieri.
And Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is his best show.
Even Brad likes to watch a little Guy every now and then.
So, about a week ago we were watching a little Triple D and low and behold....
Guy had stopped in a little town about 10 mins. outside C-Stat!
So, for our family date night, we went to the HULLABALOO!

The outside was pretty awesome too; it was an authentic old diner car!

And the menu wasn't very bad either.  Their purpose was to bring east coast cuisine to Texas.
So, Brad got their signature Chicken Fried Steak....

And since Brad, doesn't really like Italian, anytime I get a chance to have Italian cuisine; I jump at the chance!

But to top it all off, I got a little dessert too......I love New York......
CHEESECAKE!!

Oh yummy, I was in heaven.....it was delicious.....I saved most and brought it home....
it's sitting in the frig for our next meeting....
Hmmm...

Ok so to finish our date we found out that Emma belongs in a band.....
and that band would be...

KISS!
Rock On Rocking Princess!

My 2nd Mother's Day!

My 2nd Mother's Day was amazing.  We have been going to a church just down the road from us for several weeks.  Let's just say...the sermon was awesome, the praise was awesome, the fellowship was awesome!
After church, Brad took Emma and I to a new eatery we found: Ozona's and Brad loves it!

(which if you know him, you know he is kind of picky about his food....ask him about the times I make him shut his eyes to eat something I fix....just fyi, he ends up liking it...a little flavor doesn't kill anyone)

Anyway, then it was to the mall just to do a little walking around.  I can't tell you how many people who didn't even know me told me Happy Mother's Day.  This place is like a big small town....I LOVE it!!
And then, Brad let it slip....what he was getting me for Mother's Day.
Ok, so first let me explain, I have already given him a hard time about it so telling the story on here won't matter.

Ok, first things first, for Brad's birthday he was given a video game from a customer at The Feed Store.
More specific, he was given a WII game.
To which I said, "Honey, I will start saving and get us a WII for Christmas or something."
Which I have been saving since his birthday.

So, how many people can guess what my Mother's Day present was?
Um, yeah, a WII.
I am not quite sure there wasn't an alterior motive on his part.
But, none the less, we now own a WII.
And it is fun.
And I make him bow down to me with the tennis game.

And even though the gift was awesome, this was my favorite moment of the day...

They had so much fun playing in the water....those are the moments that I wish I could freeze in time.
And that's when I am glad I have a camera.
Because after my blonde moment in wishing, I remember I can just take a picture!
To catch a moment like this....

Now, those are my two loves.  And they mean all the world to me.
Until Next Time,

TOODLES!!!

Mother's Day

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day
With little time to stop and pray
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called on me to be a mom
Running errands, matching socks
Building dreams with building blocks
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose
Fitting lids on bottled bugs
Wiping tears and giving hugs
A stack of last weeks mail to read
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet when I steal a minute, Lord
Just at the sink or ironing board
To ask the blessings of Your grace
I see then, in my small one's face
That you have blessed me
All the while
And I stop to kiss
That precious smile

Bobby Eason & Rikki-Gene Whitfield

First, let me start by saying, I love taking pictures!  I have been dabbling in photography since I was around 10 when my Aunt Karen took me out and introduced me to a lens.
There is just something about looking through the camera and capturing moments in time that would otherwise be forgotten in the years to come.
And what is great about doing this as a hobby, job, or just because is taking photos of friends and family!
I have known Rikki-Gene for several years.
We were in at least 3 plays in high school and in a very crazy drama class.....(SPIDER!)
So when she approached me a couple of weeks ago to take her engagement pictures, I was so tickled!
I had so much fun!  I hope you enjoy!
